I have Windows Vista on an HP PC which is about 4 years old. I have been using Internet Explorer 8 up until a week ago - with no problems whatsoever. I never had any problems with YouTube and was able to easily and quickly access the YouTube web site. I was then stupid enough to break my own rule by installing I.E. 9 before ALL its bugs were ironed out.
As one example of several, as is also reported here, YouTube would not download videos until its error message was heeded - 'Download Flash Player.' I tried to do this on many occasions, including consulting Adobe community support, but go nowhere. Eventually I decided I could not waste any more time on this issue and others. I learned how to uninstall IE 9 at which point IE 8 returned, and my computer returned to its normal state - just almost.
The one remaining problem I have (which has actually gotten worse) is that I can no longer access YouTube at all. The screen stays completely white, and I don't even have a distorted video asking for a Flash Player Downloader! I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
