Hi, Nowadays it´s easy and economic to have a gamer computer, but for those (like me) who can´t buy a new pc but even so we want to play the latest games as much as we can, i have a temporary solution (until you buy a new pc or Rainbow six become more optimized) for increase your FPS in this game: In my case, i have a GP60 2PE LEOPARD laptop, and my problem is the graphic card (Nvidia 840M, it is not sufficient), even with the lowest setting and resolution i only get 20/25 FPS. So i discovered this trick for getting 800x600 (or whatever you want) resolution and now, although it isn´t very comfortable to see it all more pixelled, i get to play with 40 stable FPS Here we go: 1 search 'my documents/my documents' folder 2 Get in 'My games/Rainbow Six - Siege' folder 3 You should find 'GameSettings' file (if there is not in this folder try to get in in others folders inside 'Rainbow Six - Siege' folder),MAKE A COPY, And open it. 4 Go to paragraph '[DISPLAY_SETTINGS]' and find there 'ResolutionWidth=' and 'ResolutionHeight=' 5 Change the number to the resolution you want. The number wich already written are from the last resolution you had in the game. I hope i help you!

Nice Coincidence: i Have the same GPU like urs. I also tryed to manually downgrade the resolution by the config file. But only with this black bars on the side. And the UI was very small.
I tryed to go into fullscreen windowed mode to get rid of this black bars. But every time i did, my resolutuin swapped back to 1024x768. I cant play with this black bars.
And i cant play with 20-30 fps either. @LordSnowMain the black bars are caused by an uneven ratio, the native ratio for most games( including rainbow) is 16:9 so if you want the width to be 1024 the resolution size would be 1024x576.
If you want a width of 768 the resolution would be 768x432. This should solve your small UI and blackbars problem. If you want to change your resolution and need the correct ratio use this also when you put a custom resolution if you change the windowed mode or change almost anything in the settings it changes back to the smallest default option. If you want fullscreens, alt+enter.
