I wanted a new fitness tracker that did more (originally had a Fitbit Charge that I loved), but I was finding it hard to find a tracker that didn't look ridiculous on my narrow wrist. Was going for the Surge until I tried it on. Got redirected to the Apple Watch. Fit was great and it looked great. But when I went home to do my research, I found that the Apple Watch was a 'smart watch with some fitness tracking abilities'. Comparing to the Fitbit Blaze which was a 'fitness watch with some smart watch abilities', I realized the Fitbit Blaze was much more of what I was looking for.
It has all of the fitness tracking components (running, biking, weightlifting, treadmill, elliptical, and the new FitStar), while being easy to use, still using the Fitbit app that I love, NOT having all the extra that I didn't want or need and having just the right amount of 'smart watch' features (phone call, text and calendar notifications!). And its' price point was a major bonus as compared to other similar trackers.
I was afraid it was going to look too masculine on my wrist (I wanted to stick with black so that it didn't stick out by being bright), but I've actually gotten many compliments on it! I wear it a little loose to look more bracelet style and I tighten it for workouts. Have NO regrets about making this purchase--absolutely love it! Tracks steps, heart rate, calories burned while lifting weights, on the treadmill, elliptical, or while you're just riding your bike. The alarm works great! It doesn't stop vibrating until I turn it off. I receive and read texts while I am working out without having to look at my phone.
And I can also answer a call from my watch. I can't talk on the phone or text from this watch but I wasn't looking for another phone on my wrist. Everything I wanted in a fitness watch! Great job Fitbit! I am one happy customer!
I was in the market for a more all-around fitness tracker with HR, coming from a Misfit Shine. I mostly work out in the gym with circuit training, weights, etc and was looking at things like the Microsoft Band2, Garmin Vivoactive HR, and Garmin Forerunner 235.

I decided on the Blaze because of the great Fitbit app, HR, and more stylish look (yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I've seen several reviews knocking the looks but I disagree). My 11 year old daughter is dying for an Apple Watch and said my Blaze looks like one! I have the small blue and with my very small wrist I think it looks great.
I love the fact that the Blaze is a fitness tracker first, and a smart watch second--this is the right combo for me. I like getting text and call notifications, and love the fact that I can choose from multiple workout modes, including pilates and even bootcamp. The charger is strange but doesn't bother me, especially with the long battery life. I just charge it when I'm in the shower. I spent a long time 'obsessing' over the right fitness watch, and I'm glad I chose the Blaze. I love this Fitbit.
This is my first fitness tracker, and I've been waiting for the Blaze to be released. I'm glad I did. I have very SMALL wrists, and I was really worried that it would be overwhelmingly huge. It is quite big(for me), but I would say the face is about the same as the Apple iWatch.
I love that this is more affordable, and still offers many of the same features. The heart rate monitor is great! It seems to record steps very accurately, and the sleep tracker is dead on. It's really cool to see how your sleep patterns work and has been very insightful. Dying to take it on a run if this incessant rain would quit. Also can't wait to invest in a leather band to give a more classy look.
Great purchase! I've had many smart watches and fitness watches. My Charge HR was getting worn out so I knew it was time to upgrade.
When this arrived I will say it was larger than expected. But the battery life and functionality definitely make up for that. I like how it pops right out of the strap for charging.
LITERALLY lasts 4-5 days on one charge compared to barely two with the Charge HR. I get call notifications only bc I don't really need my wrist to vibrate every time I get a text. Lovely interface, all around great watch. Excellent buy!
Purchased my Fitbit Blaze on March 9th. It is being returned today March 22nd. The battery does not hold a charge longer than 3 days for me. Twice I've had to recharge after 2 days. It also takes 2 hours to fully charge. It is not recording stairs/steps accurately at all.
I still have my Fitbit One and yesterday I compared the one's results to my Blaze results. The one showed 12 stairs and 8500 steps. The Blaze showed 3 stairs and 5800 steps.
One item to note for everyone thinking of going to a watch type step counter. If you are like me and rest your hands on a treadmill handhold or push the cart in the grocery or use the handrail on steps, the Blaze will not count steps at these times.
